| | Planning Stress Free Connections The Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT), in partnership with City Plants, the Los Angeles Conservation Corps, the Los Angeles Neighborhood Initiative (LANI), and MIG, Inc. will be hosting a public workshop ‘Central LA Neighborhood Network Design Lab and Tree Adoption*’, on Saturday, February 12th. The purpose of the Design Lab is to identify potential street design solutions to reduce cut-through traffic and make bicycle and walking more comfortable and stress-free on these neighborhood streets in Central LA that are designated on the Neighborhood Enhanced Network in the City's Mobility Plan 2035. The Design Lab is part of LADOT's Planning for Stress Free Connection Initiative. Workshop participants that are City of LA residents will also be eligible to receive a free fruit or shade tree* When: February 12th, 11am - 1pm Where: Los Angeles City College**, 855 N. | | Women on Wheels' first ride of the year! The PAA Cycling Club has their first women only ride happening Sunday, January 30 at 8am. This ride has 2 route options (one longer, one shorter), both heading east from Pasadena. Then, join them Sunday, February 6 for a Bike Maintenance Clinic and Meet & Greet ride! | | Bike Aid, the annual cross country bikeathon for global development, will relaunch in the summer of 2022, focusing on climate change. The multi-route bike ride from the West Coast to the East Coast of the USA is slated to take place June 14 to August 10, 2022. Cyclists will engage citizens and politicians in over 250 communities across the United States to discuss solutions to climate change. The ride will have nine routes covering all 50 states, culminating in Washington DC to implore the U.S. Congress to act decisively on climate change. Bike Aid is actively recruiting cross country riders and hosts in each of the communities. |
